A man riding an electric unicycle was thrown across a busy intersection after being hit by a turning car, as this dramatic video shows.

The crash took place in the city of St. Petersburg, Russia, at around 1 pm on 30th April.

According to police and eyewitness reports, the driver of a Kia did not see the man as he turned right near house number 69 on Ligovsky Prospekt.

The unicyclist collided with the car, was launched into the air, flipped multiple times, and landed on the opposite side of the road.

Video footage of the accident shared on Russian social media channels showed the unicyclist weaving through traffic at a much faster speed than surrounding vehicles before the crash.

The incident happened at the intersection of Ligovsky Prospekt and Kuznechny Lane in the Central District.

Footage showed the man in a helmet being ejected from the unicycle as the car turned, hitting him directly.

He flipped several times through the air and landed near the pavement.

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that the man did not sustain serious injuries.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
