A Lada was left a mangled wreck with the driver trapped inside after a bizarre accident in which a trailer being pulled behind a lorry swung across the road and swatted it head-on.

The dramatic video was captured on the dashboard camera of a car travelling behind showing the moment the trailer being pulled by Mercedes lorry swung into the oncoming lane on the Agoy Pass in Tuapsinsky District, a mountainous region in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, Tuesday afternoon, 13th May.

The impact left the driver of the Lada Vesta pinned inside the vehicle's crumpled cabin.

Emergency crews were called to the scene and used hydraulic tools to cut open the car's roof and rescue the driver.

The man was lifted onto a hard stretcher board and transferred to an ambulance for further treatment.

Video footage reveals the car's front end completely crushed and responders working swiftly to extract the victim.

According to reports, the Mercedes lorry was also damaged but its driver was not seriously injured.
