This is the near-miss moment a lorry that was overtaking another HGV stopped on a wet road narrowly avoids being hit by a third lorry that jackknifed as its driver brakes.
The incident took place on the PR-340 road, in the state of Parana, in Brazil, on Thursday, 24th April.
The footage, filmed from the cabin of the first lorry, shows it driving along the road when it comes to the second lorry, stopped in front of it.
The first light begins to overtake the second lorry when, all of a sudden, a third HGV comes barrelling around the corner at speed.
The lorry driver swears and brakes, with the driver of the other vehicle doing the same, causing it to jackknife in the road and stop right in front of the first lorry.
The driver of the third vehicle, named as Gilmar Barbosa, who has 35 years of experience, later told local media: "I entered the band and came face to face with the lorries.
"To avoid crashing into the other lorry, or to see if I could minimise the impact, I threw the lorry towards the ravine and it stopped. Thank God nothing happened."
He added: "I saw the people, there were a lot of people on the road. I thought more about avoiding everyone so it wouldn't be a bigger accident."
The driver also said: "It was more down to luck, really. God helped me and I managed to stop the lorry."
Local media reports said that the first lorry had broken down and was later towed from the scene.
No casualties were reported. The authorities were not called and are not believed to be investigating the incident.
