A nine-year-old girl who miraculously survived a leap from her apartment balcony was fleeing from a family bloodbath where her stepdad knifed her mother and sister to death.
The youngster, who has not been named, hurled herself off the 5-metre (16.4-foot) drop after crazed Juliano Henn began coming for her.
Astonishingly, she survived the drop unharmed and raised the alarm with neighbours in Ronda Alta, in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, on 21st April.

Inside the apartment, the police found the bodies of her 41-year-old mum, Leobaldina Rocha Lyrio, and her big sister Dienifer Rauani Lyrio Goncalves, 14, both with multiple stab wounds.
Their killer, Henn, 49, was also found dead after apparently turning the knife on himself, according to local media.
One close family friend revealed that Leobaldina and Henn had just married in a civil ceremony and were planning a church service next month (May).

She told local media: "They were getting married on May 24th, almost everything was ready, buffet, dresses… it would have been the wedding of their dreams.
"I am in shock about what has happened."
The couple had reportedly been together for about a year.
In one apparently loving social media post last month, Henn said: "My Leia I have no words to describe what you mean in my life. Thank you. I love you!"

The family friend said the pair met by chance on a night out.
She said: "At first, there were comments that he was aggressive in other relationships, but she said no, that he was a special man, the kind that every woman wanted, so I can't believe it."
She added: "She used a lawyer to investigate his life before moving in, because, up until then, we had heard some rumours, but then she investigated and said that he was a good man.”

The police are investigating the brutal murders and suicide, with the nine-year-old girl set to be looked after by her older sister, Leobaldina's eldest daughter, not named but who is reportedly 21 years old.
The investigation is ongoing.
