This footage shows a cruel mum kicking a poor dog in front of her stunned child as it yelps in agony after it pulled on its lead and yanked the cup of coffee she was holding out of her hand.

The incident took place in Ufa, in Bashkortostan, in Russia, on 27th April.

CCTV footage of the scene shows the woman walking with her child and with her dog on a lead while holding the cup of coffee in her other hand.

But she then changes hands, holding the cup of coffee in the same hand as the lead when the dog suddenly pulls on it, causing her to drop her drink.

Infuriated, she lashes out and aims a kick at the dog, hitting it in the midriff and causing it to shoot back as it yelps in pain.

Her son stands still, apparently in shock, taking a few steps backwards in fear as she continues to beat the poor pooch.

The young dog cowers in fear on the ground, apparently injured, as the woman shouts at it before someone calls down to her from above.

The woman then stops the attack and continues on her way, pulling the dog along the lead as her child follows a short distance behind.

Local media reports said that after the footage was shared online, netizens and locals in the city called for the woman to be charged with animal cruelty.

It is currently unclear if the authorities are investigating the incident.
