A crash involving a car with a trailer has left three people injured after it ploughed into stopped traffic that had built up from an earlier accident.
The incident took place in the city of Saint Petersburg, Russia, on Friday, 9th May.
According to footage and reports shared online, the initial accident happened when a rideshare driver hit a motorcycle and resulted in several vehicles ending up on the hard shoulder and blocking one of the lanes.
The second vehicle pulling a trailer behind lost control when it tried to veer out of the way of the parked vehicles and slammed into a stationary car and the motorcycle that had been forced to stop following the earlier accident.
A video of the incident shows the car with a trailer veering at the last minute but still colliding with the other vehicles in a shower of sparks before coming to a stop.
The crash occurred on the KAD, the Saint Petersburg Ring Road, a major expressway encircling the city.
The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region reported that two of the victims are in serious condition, and a third was in moderate condition.
