A horror road crash off a motorway embankment that killed a mum and dad and their pet dogs has left their orphaned children fighting for their lives in hospital.
The family car careered down a 50-foot embankment in Mocooca, in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo, in the early hours of Tuesday, 22nd April, onto the road below.

Mum Alessandra Crisostomo da Silva Sousa and dad Rogerio Goncalves de Sousa, both 45, died instantly in the smash with the family's two dogs.
Miraculously, their children Davi Crisostomo de Sousa, 20, and seven-year-old Yan Crisostomo de Sousa were found alive and rushed to hospital.

Grim roadside images show the completely crushed family car after the plunge.
Both Davi and Yan are said to be in intensive care in a critical condition.
Local media reports say the car flew off the road when it hit a crash barrier after the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The police are investigating the crash.
