A heartbroken mother has told how her son died just hours after birth after she pleaded with doctors for a C-section but they insisted on a natural delivery and broke his shoulder during it.

Olga Guzikova, 34, has accused the doctors at the private clinic in Blagoveshchensk, Russia, of botching her delivery and claims they are to blame for her newborn's death.

The distraught woman, who is already the mum of another boy named Stepan, was due to give birth to her second child at the clinic in December 2024.

While she was pregnant, Olga says she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and as a result, her unborn baby was estimated to weigh a staggering 4.8 kilos (10.5 lbs).

She kept to a strict diet to ensure her baby would be born healthy and claims the obstetrician who was overseeing her pregnancy advised her to have a ceaserean section due to the child's size.

Olga was admitted to the private hospital on 13th December and was told that since her baby was so big, she needed to give birth.

She recalled: "I insisted on a C-section, but no one listened.

"They said my pelvis was wide enough and I could deliver naturally. I was terrified."

But Olga says the medics reassured her everything would be fine and then they broke her water to induce labour.

She continued: "The doctors waited four hours for the baby’s head to descend into the birth canal. Nothing happened.

"I begged for an epidural because the pain was constant.

"But they said, 'Not yet. We'll wait one more hour. If nothing happens, we'll do a C-section, but that requires a different anaesthetic.'

"An hour later, the baby began to descend, but his shoulders got stuck in the birth canal."

According to Olga, she never received the epidural.

She went on: "When he got stuck, the head of the delivery ward began pressing down on my stomach—first with her hands, then her elbow—while the obstetrician pulled the baby.

"The pain was unbearable. I screamed, 'My God, what are you doing?!'"

When the baby finally arrived, Olga says she noticed his right arm was limp.

The doctors told her he had a broken shoulder and took him away.

And when she asked if her child was okay, she says the doctor simply answered with: "Well, he cried, didn't he?"

But horrified Olga claims that hours later, another doctor came and told her to "say her goodbyes" because her baby had fallen into a coma after suffering "pain shock".

By the following morning, his heart stopped.

Furious Olga and her husband Alexei reported the case to the local Investigative Committee, blaming the clinic for their baby's death, local media reported on 22nd April.

She was further outraged, she says, when she received a death certificate signed by the hospital stating that the baby died from pneumonia.

Olga maintains: "I completely disagree. He died from his injuries.

"Besides, no one ever told me he had pneumonia, and I was never ill during my pregnancy.

"We don't trust these conclusions and want justice."

She and her husband have now hired a well-known medical lawyer from Yekaterinburg, Yulia Lipinskaya, to help them prove their child died because of the forced natural delivery.

The accused clinic has so far remained silent on the allegations.
