This is the moment a woman is struck by a train and sent flying while crossing the tracks during her morning walk as she is apparently listening to music on her phone and does not hear the loud honking.
The incident occurred in Cam Thinh Ward, in Cam Pha City, Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam, on Wednesday, 14th May.
According to Nguyen Van Hoa, chairman of the Cam Thinh Ward People's Committee, the woman was an employee of the Cua Ong Coal Selection Company, and was walking while looking at her phone and did not notice the approaching coal train.
Despite the train driver's repeated horn warnings, she proceeded to cross the tracks and was hit and thrown by the oncoming train.
Nearby residents quickly rushed to assist and transported her to a hospital for emergency treatment.
She was initially treated at a hospital in Cam Pha City and later transferred to Quang Ninh General Hospital in Ha Long City.
According to Hoa, her life is not in danger, but she is being treated for multiple injuries, including multiple broken ribs and a bruised liver.
The train involved in the incident was transporting coal and is operated by the Cua Ong Coal Selection Company, under the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV).
The incident is under investigation.
