A motorcycle rider fleeing police at 106mph lost control, his licence, and his dinner during a five-minute high-speed chase across two Czech towns.

The incident in which the man's sausages went flying as he fled from police happened in the city of Pardubice in the Czech Republic on Thursday, 8th May.

According to the police, officers attempted to stop the 49-year-old motorcyclist for a routine traffic check.

Initially travelling at a modest 30kph (19mph), the rider glanced back, lowered his visor, and suddenly accelerated away on his Kawasaki Ninja.

On a straight stretch, he hit 170kph (105.6mph), with the police maintaining pursuit with flashing lights.

In Pocaply, a nearby town, the biker narrowly avoided a crash when he jumped a kerb at a bend and landed on the pavement, somehow staying upright.

During this manoeuvre, he dropped the pack of sausages he had apparently bought for his evening meal.

A police spokesperson said: "It was the sausages he planned for dinner."

The pursuit continued through another village at high speed, including a stretch where the rider reached 110kph (68mph) on the pavement.

Despite showing considerable skill, authorities later confirmed the man did not have a valid driving licence.

He tried to lose officers by cutting through a factory complex but was blocked by stacked pallets.

Abandoning the bike, he tried to escape on foot but was tackled and handcuffed by officers.

He spent the night in a police cell and now faces multiple charges, with the potential for up to two years in prison.
