A speeding motorcyclist caught on camera the moment they slammed into a pickup truck while trying to overtake it on a busy avenue.

The collision occurred on Pedro Alvares Cabral Avenue in the city of Belem, Brazil on Thursday, 8th May.

Belem is a major city and port in northern Brazil, located in the state of Para.

Footage shows the biker accelerating along the inside lane when the pickup veers across to make a left turn, resulting in a high-speed collision that sent both the rider and bike flying.

The crash was filmed from a camera mounted on the motorcyclist’s helmet.

The rider was reportedly thrown several feet and landed on the tarmac but was conscious and moving after the crash.

Emergency services were called to the scene and the biker was taken to hospital.

Local media reported that the injuries were not life-threatening.

The truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
