This is the heart-stopping moment a fast-moving lorry narrowly avoids hitting two women at a pedestrian crossing.

The incident occurred in the village of Stanitsa Kholmskaya, located in the Abinsk district of Russia's Krasnodar region on Saturday, 10th May.

The video shows a KamAZ lorry swerving into the oncoming lane and failing to yield to pedestrians, forcing the women to hastily retreat to avoid being struck.

The footage, which has circulated widely on social media, prompted an investigation by local authorities.

Police in the Abinsk district have initiated proceedings against the driver for traffic violations, including failure to yield to pedestrians and driving into the oncoming lane.

The driver may face administrative penalties under Articles 12.15 and 12.18 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offences.
