A woman has been filmed casually walking a pigeon on a leash, seemingly unaware she was being recorded by a stranger across the street.

The footage was captured in Saint Petersburg, Russia's second-largest city, and shared online on Wednesday, 30th April.

The pigeon appears calm as it waddles along the pavement beside her, restrained by what looks like a small harness.

The woman, meanwhile, continues walking without acknowledging the camera or interacting with passersby.

Walking pigeons on leashes is not known to be a traditional or widespread practice in Russia although Russians have long been known for their love of fancy pigeon breeds, particularly the Russian Tumbler, but these birds are typically trained for flight displays, not walks.
