Pump.fun founder Alon Cohen has let the cat out of the bag after seeming to confirm his involvement in the token Pumpswap, according to a Daily Goat source.

The latest disclosure will add to speculation that Pumpswap will be integrated into Pump.fun’s newest market maker by the same name.

A trader reached out to Daily Goat’s newsroom on Monday, 14th April, to confirm his conversation with Mr. Cohen, who goes by his first name Alon in crypto circles. He provided a screenshot of the interaction.

In the conversation, the trader can be seen referencing a previous Tweet by @HiBabyDriver where he asked Alon if he had any comment on the then-trending Pumpswap token. Alon replied with a “shush” emoji in the previously-posted conversation.

Reaction to the tweet on X was muted, mainly due to the low follower count of the poster on X. Some expressed skepticism that the dialog was real.

“Verify?” replied @kwo_kwo while @CryptoAfro9 asked “Real?!”

Still, a week later Pumpswap shot up about 20 times, from $200,000 market cap to over $4 million. It now sits at around $1.5 million market cap.

Our source asked Alon to confirm whether this conversation was real, feigning the excuse that some investors had set up marketing wallets as the reason for wanting to know.

Alon replied in the affirmative, saying that the interaction was genuine.

Here’s the Daily Goat’s exclusive screenshot of Alon’s confirmation that the dialog was real:

Daily Goat has attempted to verify the photo above and has so far found no tell-tale imaging flaws with it.

Our source has the chops to know. He asked Alon in January whether he was behind a memecoin in his namesake and he replied in the affirmative back then too.

"Yes, it's me," replied Alon. He soon after posted a famous comment about the memecoin being "canonical".

Shortly afterwards, ALON jumped from around $400,000 market cap to over $200 million in value, before falling back to about $6 million, where it sits today.

If it is true that Alon is involved with the Pumpswap token, then it will be big news for memecoin investors, since Pump.fun makes over $500 million in fees per year and the Pumpswap exchange is now Solana blockchain’s number one exchange by volume.

It was previously reported that Pumpswap would not issue a token but now that premise looks to be challenged. The contract address for Pumpswap on Solana is: GMk6j2defJhS7F194toqmJNFNhAkbDXhYJo5oR3Rpump
