The beauty queen wife of notorious drug lord El Chapo has told how she will never divorce him even though they can never live as a couple again.

Mexico's once most wanted trafficker Joaquin Guzman, 67, is currently serving life plus 30 years in America's tough ADX Florence supermax prison in Colorado.

Now his wife 34-year-old wife Emma Coronel, who wed Guzman as an 18-year-old High School beauty queen in 2007, has told how she can never let El Chapo go, despite the certainty that he will die behind bars.

Coronel, now 34, served just 31 months in jail after a plea bargain to admit to drug trafficking and money laundering.

She told reporters in Mexico City on 5th May: "We are always going to be married. I don’t have any problem with that."

The confession emerged after Coronel shares new AI images with her 400,000 Instagram followers.

Titled 'Me by AI' the black and white portraits show her wearing a daring backless black dress and others with her in wide-legged trousers and an oversized blazer.

One fan told her: "So pretty and wise, you'll never be able to have anyone else but El Chapo."

And instead of denying it she replied: "And do I need any more? lol."

Since her release from jail in 2023 Coronel has built up a new life as a lifestyle influencer and fashion model, starring in a runway show during Milan Fashion Week in Italy.

Guzman's grim life behind bars could not be more different and has been held in near-total isolation since 2019.

The former head of the ruthless Sinaloa Cartel lives in a spartan seven-by-12-foot cell with no human contact for 23 hours a day.
