This is the moment a zoo monkey tries to feed a visitor by handing her apples through a feeding slot after she jokingly asked it for one.

The adorable interaction was filmed at a zoo in Inner Mongolia, northern China, and shared online on 6th March.

Video shows a female visitor crouching beside the glass enclosure of the monkey exhibit while reaching out her hand to the animal through a small feeding opening.

According to reports, the woman had initially fed the monkey pieces of sausage through the slot while other visitors watched nearby.

As the monkey reached out again for more food, the woman jokingly told it she wanted to eat an apple and asked it to bring her one.

Moments later, the monkey suddenly pulls back its hand and runs toward the corner where a fruit tray is kept on the floor.

Footage shows the animal rummaging through the tray before retrieving two pieces of apple.

The monkey then runs back to the feeding opening and carefully passes the apple pieces through the slot to the woman.

The visitor can be seen reacting with surprise as she receives the fruit from the animal.

During the exchange, the monkey is also seen glancing around the enclosure while holding the apples before pushing them toward the opening.

The video was later shared on social media, where it quickly attracted widespread attention and received over one million likes.
