This is the moment a giant pet koi fish was found miraculously still alive after leaping from its pond and being attacked by a stray cat before its owner rushed to save it.
The incident happened on 2nd March in the city of Suining, in Sichuan Province, south-western China.
Video shows the dramatic incident involving a large ornamental koi owned by a local man identified as Mr He.
The fish jumped out of the pond during the night and remained on the ground for several hours.
At around 7am, a stray cat reportedly discovered the stranded fish and bit several of its fins while it was lying outside the water.
When Mr He found the koi later that morning, he said the fish was covered in blood and appeared close to death, with its body badly injured and barely moving while its gills were still faintly opening and closing.
He immediately placed the fish back into the pond and switched on a high-powered oxygen pump in an emergency attempt to revive it.

Mr He said the koi weighs around eight kilogrammes (17.6 lbs) and he has been raising it for more than two years.
After the emergency treatment, the koi survived and remains alive while recovering in isolation, according to Mr He.
The owner said he believes the fish may have jumped from the pond due to rising temperatures and bacteria in the water that had not been disinfected.
