This is the remarkable moment a cow gives birth to four calves in an extremely rare quadruplet birth that experts say happens only once in 11 million of cases.
The extraordinary delivery took place at a herder’s home in Xilingol League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, northern China, in recent days.
Video shared online on 27th February shows the mother cow and the four newborn calves shortly after the rare birth on the rural property.
According to reports, cows are naturally single-birth animals and even twin births are considered uncommon.
Hong Hai, director of the Animal Husbandry Bureau of the Inner Mongolia Department of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, said the appearance of four calves in a single birth is exceptionally rare.
