A prison officer was shot dead by his lawyer wife, who then shot herself twice and died with the gun in her hand, according to cops who discovered the bodies at the family home.
Rogerio Naves de Lima, 49, and his wife Sara Nubia Siqueira Guedes Torres, 39, were discovered inside their house in Goiania, in the Brazilian state of Goias, in the early hours of 25th February.
Military Police said the couple were found in their bedroom with gunshot wounds.

Homicide investigators said inquiries into the circumstances of the deaths are still at an early stage but forensic experts confirmed that 10 shots were fired inside the house.
Rogerio was reportedly lying on the bed when he was hit by five gunshots to the head. Sara suffered two gunshot wounds that cops believe were self inflicted.
A .40 calibre pistol belonging to the prison officer was found near Sara’s hand. Based on initial evidence, police are treating the case as a homicide followed by suicide. The investigation remains ongoing.
The bodies were discovered after Sara’s mother went to the property when she was unable to reach her daughter. On arriving at the house, she saw a large pool of blood near the entrance to the couple’s bedroom and began screaming for help.
A doctor who lives in the same residential complex responded and entered the home, where the couple were found dead.

A neighbour told police she had woken at around 3am after hearing loud noises, which she described as someone knocking insistently on her door.
Police were sent to the gated condominium but reported no signs of forced entry or suspicious individuals at the time. The call was initially recorded as a routine check.
Security cameras in the condominium did not capture any unusual movement or anyone entering or leaving between 3am and 3:30am — the timeframe forensic experts believe the shooting took place.
On social media, Sara frequently shared photographs with her husband along with messages about family life. In one post she wrote: “Family is not luck. It is order, responsibility and purpose.”

The Goias Penal Police paid tribute to Rogerio in a statement posted on Instagram, expressing solidarity with his relatives and friends. The statement read: “May God grant comfort, strength and faith to get through this moment of pain.”
City councillor Wenison Ramos, a friend of the couple, said they had been married for 10 years and had no children together, although Rogerio had children from a previous relationship.
Ramos said he had known Rogerio for more than two decades and described his death as a significant personal loss.
The investigation is ongoing.
