This is the moment a daring biker recreates Tom Cruise's jaw-dropping stunt by skydiving off a cliff on his motorcycle before parachuting safely to the ground.
The extraordinary footage was filmed near the village of Kuli in the Kulinsky District of the Republic of Dagestan, Russia, on Friday, 24th October.
Video shows extreme sportsman Nikolai Tsibulko accelerating along a specially built ramp before launching himself and his motorbike off the edge of a steep cliff.
As he falls, Nikolai detaches from the bike and opens his parachute almost simultaneously with the motorcycle’s own chute.
The stunt lasts several seconds in free fall before both man and machine deploy their parachutes and glide safely away from the rocks below.
Nikolai's colleague, motorcyclist Sergey Belokrylin, filmed the jump and shared it on his social media.
Sergey said not everything went smoothly and confirmed that the motorcycle was badly damaged during the stunt.
He described the experience as thrilling, difficult, cold, and dark, adding that more details of the project will be revealed in an upcoming vlog.
The jump was part of a large-scale media project conceived by Sergey to combine extreme sports and spectacular scenery.
It was inspired by a popular scene from the movie 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning', where Tom Cruise jumped off a cliff on his motorcycle in what has been described as the "biggest stunt in cinema history".
