This is the moment a man armed with an AK-style rifle shoots down what Russian media said was a Ukrainian drone flying low over a field.

The footage was reportedly filmed in a village near Makhachkala, in the republic of Dagestan in Russia, on 22nd October.

Video shows the man taking several precise shots before the aircraft changes its trajectory and apparently crashes into the field.

Russian media described it as showing a resident firing at an alleged Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle.

According to Russia’s Ministry of Defence, Ukrainian forces launched drone attacks on southern regions of Russia that morning.

Officials said three drones were downed over the Black Sea, two over Crimea, and eight over Dagestan.

Dagestan’s head, Sergey Melikov, said the drones had targeted an industrial facility in Makhachkala but no one was injured.
