This is the moment a group of law students surprise their professor with a PlayStation 5 after joking for months that he would only get one if they passed their exam.
The touching tribute took place in Recife, Pernambuco state, Brazil, on the eve of the second phase of the 44th Brazilian Bar Association exam, which is scheduled for Sunday, 19th October.
Constitutional Law professor Bruno Vasconcelos received the console as a Teachers’ Day gift from his students enrolled in his course on Tuesday, 14th October.
The video of the moment made the rounds on social media on Wednesday, 15th October, coinciding with Brazil’s Teachers’ Day.
Visibly emotional, he described the PlayStation 5 as “a true symbol of love” and said he hoped his dedication to the class was mutual.
The footage shows the moment the professor unwraps the box while his students applaud and record the surprise.
The students and former students organised the present through a crowdfunding campaign.

Professor Vasconcelos told Brazilian media that the gesture grew out of an ongoing joke during class.
He said: “I always joked with the students that I needed to renew my contract so I could buy a PS5, but to do that, they had to pass the test.”
The joke became a running theme in his lessons, and although he had wanted to buy the console himself, he said “unforeseen circumstances” always got in the way.
He often used the example as part of his teaching to illustrate legal topics.
Vasconcelos said the students decided to surprise him at the end of the course as a way of showing appreciation for his efforts in preparing them for the exam.
