This footage purports to show a Russian Msta-S self-propelled howitzer hitting Ukrainian military positions and an American-made counter-battery radar station in Zaporizhzhia.
The images were released by the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) and reportedly show the strike taking place in the Zaporizhzhia region of Ukraine on Wednesday, 15th October.
The Russian MoD said in a statement: "A crew of the Msta-S self-propelled howitzer from the ‘Vostok’ group destroyed Ukrainian Armed Forces positions and an American-made AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radar station in the Zaporizhzhia region.”
It added: “According to drone reconnaissance data, the positions of nationalist formations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and a counter-battery radar station of American manufacture were identified in forest belts.”
The ministry continued: “After the coordinates were confirmed, the artillerymen carried out a series of targeted shots. As a result of accurate hits, the enemy positions and the radar station were destroyed.”
