A female nurse has been accused of ordering a male colleague to give a 27-year-old patient a lethal injection after an argument in hospital.
The shocking case unfolded in Gaziantep, in Turkey, with its fifth hearing taking place at the city’s 3rd High Criminal Court on 13th October.
According to reports, the victim, Abdurrezzak Baysal, who had suffered a leg injury in a traffic accident in 2022, died after being injected with another patient’s medication at a private hospital where he was being treated.
An investigation revealed that a nurse on duty had administered a muscle relaxant belonging to another patient without a doctor’s order.

A report by the Forensic Medicine Institute found that the drug caused Baysal’s death, and a lawsuit was filed against two nurses on duty — female nurse Asli Ersoy and male nurse Mustafa Celik.
Witness female nurse Semihat O., who testified in court, said there had been an argument between the victim and nurse Ersoy inside the intensive care unit.
She said the patient spat at the nurse, who then became angry, covered his mouth with a blanket, and said: “I know what to do to you now.”
According to her testimony, nurse Ersoy then took some of another patient’s intubation medication and handed it to her male colleague, saying: “Mustafa, do this to Baysal.”
Approximately five to six minutes after the drug was injected, the young patient’s condition began to deteriorate.
The witness said the two nurses tried to intervene for about 45 minutes before declaring him dead.

When the doctor arrived, he reportedly asked if any medication had been used, but nurse Ersoy refused to answer.
Another nurse later showed the doctor a photo of the medication, prompting him to tell Ersoy to report to the police station immediately.
The victim’s sister, Ipek Baysal, said her brother had only suffered a broken leg in the accident and had been recovering well before the incident.
She said: “Everything was fine. That night, at 4 a.m., the hospital called and said, ‘Your brother had a heart attack and passed away.’ We were going to bring him home in the morning, but they gave us his coffin. We want justice.”
The grieving family filed a criminal complaint against the nurses following his death.
Their lawyer, Ferhat Kurt, said witness testimony confirmed that Nurse Ersoy knowingly ordered medication intended for an intubated patient to be administered to the victim, and that the crime met the elements of premeditated murder.
The court adjourned the hearing until 3rd December pending the final forensic report confirming that the death was caused by the injection.
