This is the purported moment Russian T-80BVM tanks open fire to support infantry units during an assault on Ukrainian positions.

The footage was filmed in Berezove, a village in Volnovakha Raion in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine, on Thursday, 25th September, according to the Russian Ministry of Defence.

The video shows tanks moving forward and firing their weapons.

The Ministry said the tanks destroyed Ukrainian strongpoints.

It added that this allowed assault units to capture new positions and take control of the village.

The claims could not be independently verified.
