This is the moment a man armed with a shotgun chases his ex-wife through a private hospital and shoots her dead on the day she obtained a restraining order against him.

The attack happened in Kahramanmaras, Turkey, on 21st May, when Atilla Ayintapli, 44, entered the hospital where his former wife Eser Karaca, 42, worked as a medical secretary.

CCTV footage shows him arriving with the weapon hidden in a bag and going into her office.

Eser and a colleague fled the room when they saw the gun but Ayintapli ran after them with the shotgun.

He caught up with Eser on the stairs and fired three shots at her before fleeing.

She was taken to doctors inside the same hospital but could not be saved.

Ayintapli fled the building but was arrested soon afterwards and remanded in custody.

Prosecutors have now charged him with the aggravated intentional killing of his ex-wife, for which they are seeking aggravated life imprisonment, local media reported on 24th September.

He has also been charged with threatening her colleague with a weapon, for which prosecutors are seeking up to seven years in prison.

The indictment has been accepted by the Kahramanmaras 5th High Criminal Court and Ayintapli is awaiting trial.
