A circus has blamed the artist for a mistake after she fell several feet while performing aerial acrobatics suspended by her hair.
They claimed the young woman had used a different method of tying her hair to the suspension cable and as a result it came undone during the incident in Miracema, in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro, on Saturday night, 13th September.
A video recorded during the second and final session of the night shows the woman lifted into the air by her hair in the act known as hair suspension.
About 20 seconds later, while spinning in the air with a ribbon in her hands, she loses her support and falls to the ground.
In another image, emergency teams appear on the scene providing care to the victim.
Circo Robatiny Espetacular said in a statement that it adopts all safety protocols and that there was a human error.
The circus explained: "The artist herself is responsible for tying her hair, which follows a protocol and a correct way of tying.
"In this case, she said, the hair was tied differently than usual, and it came undone on its own, causing the accident."

On social media, Circo Robatiny said the artist was taken to the emergency room, all tests were performed, and nothing serious was found.
They confirmed she is doing well and only has muscle pain.
As of the last update, the city hall had not provided further details on her health condition.
