A former blonde boxing champion from Germany who encourages women to join Islam has married a radical hate preacher.
Hanna Hansen, 41, from Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia, married Sven Lau, 44, under Islamic law in November 2024 after the pair became close on a pilgrimage to Mecca a month earlier, according to German newspaper BILD.
Sources told the newspaper the marriage between the two who are both on a German intelligence agency watch list was agreed orally in the presence of two witnesses and conducted by the preacher Abu Alia.

Officials said the ceremony left no official documents or written contract, meaning the union is not recorded by German authorities.
Hansen was reported to have accepted that Lau already had two wives, making her his third.
Lau, known as a former "Sharia police" leader, had previously been sentenced to several years in prison for supporting a foreign terrorist organisation.
Since his release, he has resumed preaching in the Salafist scene and is still monitored by German security services.
Hansen is also under surveillance. German intelligence has described her as one of the most dangerous Islamist influencers in the country, saying she uses her own story of conversion to encourage women to abandon secularism and embrace Sharia law.

She converted to Islam in 2023 and now appears online wearing a headscarf alongside convicted extremists.
Intelligence officials say she promotes messages that appear relatable to young women, using themes of identity and empowerment before shifting to political content.
Authorities warn that she and so-called "sister groups" she engages with often begin with discussions of clothing, hygiene, and sexuality before introducing more radical ideas, with some linked to anti-Semitic propaganda.
Hansen has around 200,000 followers on Instagram.
Her public talks and online content condemn sex outside marriage and homosexuality while promoting Sharia law. She has appeared with radical male preachers including Lau and Pierre Vogel.

She previously won several national kickboxing championships, as well as a world championship, before an eye injury forced her to retire.
She later worked as a DJ and model before becoming an Islamist activist.
Hansen has not commented publicly on the reports of her marriage.
