This is the shocking moment a tigress was fatally attacked inside her cage by her own son as horrified zoo visitors looked on.
The incident happened on the afternoon of Saturday, 16th August, at Zoologico de Cali, in Colombia.
Footage filmed by witnesses shows the rare white tigress Indira being set upon by her 12-year-old son Kanu inside the tiger enclosure.
The clip captures the animals clashing violently as people scream in the background.
Zoo officials confirmed that the fight was triggered by territorial limits between the male and the female.
Veterinarians arrived immediately and moved Indira to the management zone where they tried to save her life.
Despite the medical team’s efforts, her heart stopped beating and she died shortly afterwards.
A spokesperson for the zoo said: "With deep sorrow we say farewell to Indira, our Bengal tigress, who for more than 15 years received the care and love of our animal welfare team.

"Indira passed away after an incident with her son Kanu, with whom she shared an enclosure for more than 12 years."
They added: "Her passing reminds us that life and death are part of the same path. Today we ask our community to join us in this mourning and send a message of support to our team, who dedicated years of commitment and care."
Indira was especially popular with visitors for her white fur, which occurs due to a rare genetic mutation.
The zoo stressed that such behaviour had never been seen before between the two animals.
Staff explained: "This aggressive conduct had never happened before while they shared the enclosure."

Managers have confirmed that investigations and new measures are under way to prevent a similar situation in the future.
The tragedy comes just months after the death of Orus, a puma that escaped its cage at the same zoo in February and later died of a pulmonary oedema after being contained.
