A 21-year-old driver wrecked a EUR 105,000 BMW during a test drive when he lost control and crashed into a tree.
The crash happened on the road between Dulmen and Coesfeld in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, at around 12:45 pm on Saturday, 2nd August, according to police in Coesfeld.
The young man, who was not named, had been test driving a BMW M3 Competition M xDrive, a 530-horsepower high-performance sedan that accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds.
He reportedly lost control while turning onto the highway, causing the car to spin and slam sideways into a roadside tree.
Witnesses called the emergency services, and the driver was taken to hospital by ambulance with injuries.
The road was closed during the accident investigation, and police said the cause of the crash is still under review.
The value of the damage to the BMW is not yet confirmed but the cost of a new model is around EUR 105,000 (GBP 91,500).
