A young tennis star was shot dead by her father while making breakfast because he was being "taunted" over her successes.
Accused killer Deepak Yadav allegedly fired five times at his daughter Radhika Yadav, 25, while she was making breakfast, with three bullets hitting her body and killing her.
This is according to the police, who said that the national-level tennis player was shot in the back at their Gurugram residence, in India, on Thursday, 10th July.

The 49-year-old killer dad told police officers said that he had suffered "taunts" from villagers in Wazirabad, his hometown, linked with his daughter's income, with people saying he was living off her fame and fortune.
Radhika's uncle, Kuldeep Yadav, who lives on the ground floor of the same building, according to reports, heard gunshots and ran upstairs.
He found Radhika lying on the kitchen floor, with the handgun, a revolver, left nearby.
He told the police: "Around 10:30 am, I heard a loud sound. When I went upstairs, I saw my niece lying motionless in the kitchen. The revolver was on the floor in the drawing room. My son and I immediately took her to the hospital, but she was already gone."

According to the police, Radhika's financial independence, along with her Instagram posts, as well as her appearance in a music video, upset Deepak and caused tension in the household.
It had escalated further into frequent argument after she opened a tennis academy and he demanded that she shut it down.
Radhika was reportedly taken by car to Asia Maringo Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead.
Deepak Yadav said: "When I used to go to Wazirabad village to get milk, people used to taunt me, saying that I live off my daughter's earnings.

"This troubled me a lot. Some people even questioned my daughter's character. I told my daughter to close her tennis academy, but she refused."
Deepak's wife, Manju Yadav, was reportedly in the house at the time of the brutal killing but has not given a statement to the police and has locked herself in her room complaining of a fever, the police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
