A drunk migrant accused of sexually assaulting three 10-year-old girls at an open-air swimming pool has been seized by police.

The 31-year-old man was spotted molesting the terrified youngsters in the water at the pool in Babenhausen, in the German state of Hesse, on Sunday, 28th June.

Police say the Romanian national was so drunk his medical tests showed he had enough alcohol in his system to kill him.

His alcohol reading was reportedly 4.21 per mille, more than a third higher than the level medics consider life-threatening.

The suspect was taken into custody, and the authorities have launched a criminal investigation.

His arrest came just days after four Syrian migrants were arrested at a waterpark in nearby Gelnhausen, also in Hesse, accused of groping nine girls aged 11 to 17.
