This is the heartwarming moment a motorist spots two tiny dogs snuggling together during a storm in a bid to stay warm and dry and promptly adopts them.

Named only as Mr Wu, the motorist from Hubei Province, in central China, can be seen in the video filming the two strays from his car.

The video shows the poor pooches being battered by the rain as they huddle together for warmth and to try to stay warm.

Moved by the scene, Mr Wu decided to adopt the two little dogs, with the footage cutting to them out of the rain and in the back of his car.

He told local media that on the one hand, he was very moved by the scene, while on the other, he felt sorry for the dogs and decided to adopt them.

Some netizens said that the two dogs were obviously hoping to meet a kind person who would take them in, while others speculated that the scene simply showed one of the small pooches comforting the other.
