This is the moment a Tesla Model 3 crashes at speed into the back of a lorry, killing the driver instantly.
The fatal collision took place near the Hefu Service Area on the Huhang Expressway in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, in China, on 25th May.
Video footage shows the Tesla approaching a large cargo trailer parked at the exit of the service area. The car is travelling at high speed and makes no attempt to brake or swerve, even though the truck is clearly visible and motionless. The truck driver was reportedly adjusting a safety rope at the time and escaped injury.
The Tesla smashes directly into the rear of the truck with devastating force. The front of the vehicle crumples entirely as it is driven underneath the trailer, and the cabin is crushed almost flat.

Local media speculated that the complete lack of braking or evasive manoeuvres may indicate driver distraction, incapacitation, or a malfunction of Teslaβs assisted driving systems.
Tesla China later confirmed it had not received any alerts from the car prior to the incident, and said it had no information to confirm whether the cause was a technical failure or human error.
