A male inmate trying to sneak out of prison wearing women's clothing was caught when sharp-eyed guards spotted his wonky wig and stubble poking out from a surgical face mask.
Kidnapping suspect Thalles Pinheiro Brito was stopped while strolling out of the jail in Maranhao, northern Brazil after slipping into a baggy purple dress and long back wig.

He was accompanied by a woman who had been visiting him at the Sao Luis Regional Penitentiary on 7th June, who is said to have brought the disguise and who was also arrested.
The jailbird set off the outfit with a handbag, glasses and a face mask to cover his goatee beard stubble and strolled out arm-in-arm with his accomplice.
Brito has been in jail since April last year (2024), when he was arrested as the prime suspect of the kidnapping of retired public prosecutor Raimundo Reis Vieira, 85.
The prosecutor was kept in terrifying conditions for three days before he was rescued by police.
