A man who confessed to tying a noose around an 18-year-old girl's neck and tying it to his truck door before pushing it off a cliff is facing life behind bars.
Accused Tunay Aydin, 23, had admitted to police killing victim Rumeysa Meric Ozcan after she turned him down for sex but later withdrew his statement.

Judges at the Kocaeli 1st High Criminal Court in Turkey, heard how Aydin had first battered her head on the truck dashboard before pushing her over the edge.
Bafflingly Aydin told the court her death was a tragic accident, despite police finding the noose still tied around her neck at the crash site in May last year (2024).
He claimed that he had got out of the truck for a pee and it rolled forward over the cliff edge in Golcuk.
Aydin said: "She said she would drive off the cliff and I thought she was joking."

Prosecutors say Aydin had been drinking beer all day and flew into a rage when Rumeysa turned him down, local media reported on 27th May.
An autopsy revealed she had been strangled and suffered blunt force injuries including rope burns and bruising.
Prosecutors are demanding life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for aggravated murder.

Rumeysa's mother, Kevser Erden, told the court: “He took my child from me. He ended her dreams. I don’t want him to ever be released."
The case continues.
