A mini tornado tore through a crowded market, sending fruits, vegetables and entire stalls spinning through the air as terrified shoppers ran for cover.
The freak weather event struck an open-air market in the port city of Yantai in Shandong Province, eastern China, on the morning of 27th May.
Footage shared online shows debris swirling high into the air as the twister touches down, with market goods hurled skywards and canvas roofs ripped from frames.
Witnesses said fruits and vegetables were flung into the air like missiles, creating a bizarre scene that one described as "raining produce."
Several locals noted the weather had been unusually calm and sunny just before the tornado formed.
Authorities cordoned off the area soon after the twister passed to prevent further injuries.
Emergency services treated several people for minor injuries at the scene, while a few were taken to hospital for observation.
