A six-year-old girl told teachers she had sealed her vagina with superglue to stop her perverted stepdad raping her, police have revealed.

Concerned staff at the school in Pouso Alegre, in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, noticed the girl walking uncomfortably and asked her what was wrong.

They called police when she revealed she had used industrial strength glue to close up her genitals "so he wouldn’t mess with me any more".

Local media reports on 24th May say her stepfather, who has not been named, had been abusing her for years before he was arrested in March.

Further inquiries revealed that three siblings, two girls aged 14 and 15 and a four-year-old autistic boy, were also being sexually abused.

Shockingly, the children's 36-year-old mother told police she knew what was happening, but dismissed it as "normal".

Police investigation head Renata Brizzi said: "She knew what was going on. She just left her children to him."

Police say she is under investigation but not in custody.

It later emerged that police have been investigating the suspect for a year after a family friend tipped them off he had been abusing the children since 2021.
