A woman has been jailed for 10 years after bombarding a married doctor with 1,300 texts in one day, calling him over 500 times and even breaking into his clinic to attack his wife.
The case unfolded in the city of Ituiutaba, Minas Gerais state, Brazil, after Kawara Welch Ramos de Medeiros became obsessed with the medic who treated her for depression in 2018.
The sentence was handed down on 29th May 2025.

Ramos de Medeiros, a former nutrition student who also claimed to be an artist and model, spent five years stalking the man, despite restraining orders and repeated police interventions.
She used over 2,000 different phone numbers to get around call blocks, pursued the doctor in the street, sent thousands of messages, and even contacted his eight-year-old son.
She camped outside his house, lay in wait at his clinic, and was eventually arrested in May 2024 after more than a year on the run.
In one incident in 2022, she allegedly stormed into his workplace and attacked his wife.

Police dismissed claims from her legal team that she and the doctor had a romantic relationship, stating that it was all in her imagination.
Prosecutors said her actions caused the doctor "intense emotional distress" and disrupted his family and professional life.
During the trial, the judge cited repeated violations of protective measures as a key reason for the long sentence.
Ramos de Medeiros' case sparked a storm on social media, with many mocking her online and calling her a "Diva" and "Queen."
Her follower count jumped from around 2,000 to nearly 11,000 after her arrest.

Some of her admirers wrote: "Marry me," and "Follow me," under her posts.
She posted surreal artworks online including a painting called "On the Wings of Justice," showing a blindfolded woman with wings holding a sword and scales.
Ramos de Medeiros signed one restraining order against her in 2020 but continued to stalk the doctor.
Her defence lawyer insisted that she loved the doctor and believed they were in a consensual relationship.
She will serve her sentence in a women’s prison in Brazil but has the right to appeal.
