This is the terrifying moment an elderly man causes a motorway crash by shuffling across speeding traffic with a walking stick.
The incident happened on the Qala-Pirallahi road in the city of Baku, Azerbaijan on Wednesday, 21st May.
Shocking CCTV footage shows the slow-moving pensioner stepping onto the road as cars hurtle towards him.
A woman seen waiting at the side of the road wisely stays back as the man continues, stick in hand, towards the far side.
A red car slams on the brakes and halts in front of him, avoiding a collision by seconds.
But a white car behind fails to react in time and ploughs straight into the back of it.
The white car is sent spinning off the road as the red motor moves to the side of the road to avoid another potentital crash.
Somehow, the elderly man makes it across unscathed and turns to look back at the pile-up.
Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan, has seen a spate of accidents involving pedestrians in recent months.
Traffic police have repeatedly warned locals not to cross fast-moving roads on foot.
