This is the moment a sports teacher sinks his career when he boots a 15-year-old pupil into a school swimming pool.

The teacher was caught on camera in Blumenau, Santa Catarina state, Brazil, on 13th May disciplining the boy after he had jumped into the water for a BRL 50 (GBP 6.60) bet.

The footage shows the teacher, who has not been named, squaring up to the teen after he had pulled the prank.

Suddenly he shoves the boy hard knocking him backwards into the water.

He then reportedly snarled at the teen: "Now you can stay there."

And when the pupil tries to climb out up the pool ladder, the teacher kicks him in chest and then cuffs him round the head as he falls back into the water as the clip ends.

The teacher was sacked for misconduct the next day (14th May) after the footage sparked outrage on social media.

The teen later said: "When I jumped, he got mad, very angry. He gave me a kick. He took his hand, put it around my neck.

"He ended up throwing me back in the pool, where I almost hit my head."

The teen added: "It was wrong of me to jump in the pool when I wasn't supposed to.

"But what the teacher did was much worse. I was scared. I just wanted to get out."

The boy's family said they will also report the teacher to the police and intends to take the case to court.
