This is the shocking moment a luxury GBP 300,000 Mercedes slams into a metal barrier on a race track at high speed after its brake suddenly failed.
The crash happened during a private track day event at Malaysia's Sepang International Circuit, with images of the incident being shared online on 19th May.
Dashcam footage shows the Singapore-registered Mercedes AMG GT R hitting around 146mph before the driver began slowing down for the turn.
But the brake unexpectedly fails and he ends up overshooting into the gravel trap and smashing into the barrier at over 100mph.
Dashcam footage shows the high-performance car losing control as it hurtles through a bend before slamming into the side wall.
Incredibly, both the driver and his passenger survived.
Neither suffered life-threatening injuries, though the driver was reportedly hospitalised with a spinal injury.
It is understood that the supercar's brake failed under hard braking at high speed, leading to a loss of stopping power.
The Mercedes-AMG GT R is a 577bhp sports coupe capable of reaching 62mph in just over three seconds and topping out at over198mph.
The car was left mangled with severe damage to its front end.
Images circulating online show the supercar with its hood crumpled, bumper detached, and airbags deployed.
A track marshal confirmed that the car was quickly removed to avoid disruptions to the session.
No official statement has yet been issued by the driver or the track organisers.
