A rogue tyre broke free from a moving vehicle and ploughed into a group of people playing cards at a house next to the street, injuring several people in a shocking incident captured on video.

The bizarre accident occurred in Hengdong County, a rural district in Hunan Province, China, on 8th May.

Footage circulating on Chinese social media platforms where it emerged on 15th May shows the tyre seemingly flying in from nowhere and slamming into the unsuspecting group sitting on a table.

Four people were knocked to the ground, with three of them sustaining injuries requiring medical attention.

Emergency services responded swiftly, and the injured were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The cause of the tyre's detachment is under investigation, with authorities examining whether mechanical failure or human error played a role.

Social media users on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, flocked to the comments, with one titled 'you guess' saying: "Living near the road is not safe.

And 'User 5177989792554' remarked: "It turns out that staying at home is not safe."
