This is the bizarre moment drivers are left dangling on a drawbridge after bungling operators raised it while they were still driving over.

Phone footage of the baffling slip up on the bridge in Lemmer, the Netherlands, on 20th May show a lorry and a red car both with their rear ends up in the air.

As emergency workers try to figure out how to get them down, one driver lets rip with an expletive-packed rant about the slip up.

He says: "They're working there and they saw us and they couldn't even stop the f***ing bridge man."

It is unclear whether the drivers both ignored the bridge over the Princess Margriet Canal warning lights or if it was raised too early.

No injuries have been reported.

Police are investigating the drama in cooperation with Rijkswaterstaat, the agency responsible for all main roads and waterways in the country.
