A young boy was left with bruises and a fright after he was hit by a BMW while playing near his home.
The incident happened in the city of Lipetsk, Russia, on the evening of Tuesday, 13th May.
According to the regional traffic police, the seven-year-old had been playing with a friend when he suddenly darted out from behind parked cars and into the path of the oncoming vehicle.
The BMW driver was travelling at a low speed through the residential courtyard and managed to brake quickly but still struck the child.
Footage released by the traffic safety department shows the boy getting up on his own and walking over to the driver.
He was later taken to a healthcare facility, treated for minor injuries, and discharged the same day.
Officials noted that the maximum permitted speed in residential areas is 20 kilometres per hour (12.4 mph), and drivers must always yield to pedestrians.
The State Traffic Safety Inspectorate reminded motorists to remain vigilant in courtyards, where people and animals may suddenly appear.
Parents were also urged to explain the dangers of running onto the road, even near the home, to their children.
