This is the shocking moment a 26-year-old woman is shot inside a pharmacy by a hooded gunman in broad daylight.

The incident occurred in the Kennedy district of Bogota, Colombia's capital, around 12:30pm on Monday, 12th May.

The victim, Heithy Katherine Veloza Gutierrez, had entered the pharmacy to make a purchase when a man wearing a light-coloured sweatshirt, jeans, and a cap followed her inside.

Without saying a word, the assailant drew a firearm and shot her multiple times at close range.

Security camera footage captured the attack, showing Heithy collapsing to the floor as the gunman fled the scene on foot.

Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots and described the scene as chaotic and terrifying.

Local residents attempted to assist the victim before emergency services arrived.

Heithy was transported to the Hospital de Kennedy, where she was pronounced dead due to the severity of her injuries.

Police are investigating the incident as a possible femicide but have not ruled out other motives.

Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and collecting witness statements to identify and apprehend the suspect.

The community has expressed shock and outrage over the killing.

A neighbour who knew Heithy said: "She was a kind person, always greeted everyone. It's heartbreaking to see her life taken so violently."
