A trainee school counsellor who staged a creepy birthday party for her hyper-realistic toddler doll has revolted critics after she posted footage of the bash online.
Student school executive Isabelle da Silva Rodrigues hosted the event in Curitiba, in the state of Parana, Brazil, and invited eight other eerily lifelike baby dolls with their 'parents' to the party.
Isabelle, 23, is seen with her doll in her arms as she stands by a birthday cake surrounded by banners and bunting declaring that it is its third birthday.
As the camera pans around, eight other dolls, from babies to toddlers, are seen apparently joining in with the party.
Bafflingly some are being carried in real life baby swings while other are seated in buggies.
And as their owners sing 'Happy Birthday' to doll Martina, they jiggle their dolls around as if they are chorusing along.
Ironically the party featured a cake inspired by the Disney cartoon 'Inside Out' about the emotional conflicts going on inside a young girl's head.
The video of the celebration, shared on TikTok, rapidly went viral, clocking up more than 190,000 views.
Influencer Isabelle says she began collecting Reborn dolls seven years ago aged 14 and now owns seven.
Although she claims to never treat her dolls as if they are real children, the clip shows every effort has been made to create a party that looks as genuine as possible.
The clip, though, horrified many social media users.
One Instagram user referenced a hit horror movie about a possessed killer doll saying: "Anabelle started like this."
Another added "I think Brazil has a lot of people who need a bit of attention."
And a third added: "Is this serious?"
But Isabelle, who when she graduates from uni can move into any school admin role, dismissed her mockers as sexist saying: "Why are women so criticised?"
Reborn dolls are handcrafted by sculptors and artists to resemble genuine infants, complete with creepily realistic skin, veins, and hair.
Basic models can cost up to GBP 1,000 with special bespoke 'babies' costing up to three times more.
