A mechanic was crushed when a car tipped off the observation platform during repairs at an auto workshop and it fell on top of him.
The incident occurred at a garage located in Beykoz, a district on the Asian side of Istanbul, Turkey, on 10th April.
As can be seen in the chilling CCTV footage, which only emerged on 18th May, the victim, service manager Fatih Tastan, was working beneath the 2.5-tonne vehicle when it suddenly tipped over and fell from the lift.
The back end crashed to the floor before the entire car then dropped down squarely on top of the unfortunate man, crushing him underneath.
Emergency services responded swiftly, and the manager was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Despite undergoing intensive treatment, Fatih succumbed to his injuries on 2nd May after 22 days in the intensive care unit.
The tragic event has sparked widespread concern and discussions about workplace safety standards in auto repair shops across the country.
The owner of the garage, identified only as S.A., has been questioned by police who are currently investigating.
