The Senna Tower, twice as tall as The Shard, is set to soar to more than 550 metres (1,804 feet) with 154 floors when it is completed.

Now the constructors of the ocean-side block in Balneario Camboriu, in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, have revealed the eye-watering cost of its two most luxurious residences.

The block, named after Brazilian Formula 1 racing legend Ayrton Senna, will be topped by two spectacular triplex penthouses, initially estimated at GBP 12 million each.

Now it has emerged that the price for the for the sky scraping residences has risen by a breathtaking BRL 300 million (GBP 40 million).

The tower is being built to house 228 units, including 204 apartments up to 4,300 square feet and 18 suspended mansions ranging from 4,520 to 6,060 square feet.

Four duplex penthouses of about 6,450 square feet and two triplex penthouses of 9,700 square feet are also being built.

Prices for the smallest apartments start at BRL 28 million (GBP 3.7 million), with the triplex penthouses rising to BRL 300 million (GBP 40 million).

The triplex penthouses will reportedly be sold through British auction house Sotheby's.

The building's design, led by Senna's niece, artist Lalalli Senna, aims to symbolise the driver's journey of overcoming challenges.

The tower will feature advanced engineering solutions, including a Tuned Mass Damper system to reduce sway from wind, ensuring comfort for residents on higher floors.

Construction is expected to be completed by 2033, with the tower surpassing New York's Central Park Tower to become the tallest residential tower globally.

The project is a collaboration between FG Empreendimentos, the Senna family, and Havan, with an estimated investment of BRL 3 billion (approximately GBP 400 million).
