Three heavy vehicles lost control in quick succession on a rain-slicked motorway in Istanbul, with the entire sequence captured on security cameras.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 pm local time on 1st May in the Guzelce area of Buyukcekmece, a district on the European side of Istanbul, in Turkey.
According to reports, a concrete mixer lorry first lost control on the wet surface of the D-100 motorway, skidding sideways and blocking two lanes.
Moments later, a rubbish lorry approaching the scene also lost control, striking the roadside barrier and spinning before colliding with another bin lorry following behind.
The entire sequence was recorded by a nearby security camera, showing the rapid succession of accidents.
No injuries were reported, but the crashes caused significant traffic disruption in the area.
One netizen, going by 'emreistanbul', said on TikTok after the images were shared online: "That was terrifying to watch. Thank goodness no one was hurt."
While 'aysegul34' said on Facebook: "Drivers need to be more cautious in the rain. This could have been a disaster."
And 'mehmetk' added, also on Facebook: "Authorities should ensure better road maintenance to prevent such incidents."
